Thank you to our donors and volunteers for making our Classroom Emergency Kit project a reality!
Centerville Safe has provided over 400 emergency kits to classrooms in Centerville City Schools. Centerville Safe was founded in 2019 by Centerville City Schools parents
who wanted to do more for school safety and security. Their mission is to advocate for and
collaborate with Centerville City Schools on matters of school safety and security.
A priority for the nonprofit was to provide a classroom emergency kit to classrooms in the
Centerville schools. The items, such as a glass breaking device, first aid supplies, and other essentials, included in this backpack would be useful for a variety of emergency situations.
Numerous local businesses and organizations provided financial support and donations to
Centerville Safe to help achieve their goal. The supporters included Voss Auto Network,
Pediatric Associates of Dayton, Dorothy Lane Market, Dayton Food Allergy Network, Sweeney’s Seafood Bar & Grill, Hadley Watts Middle School PTO, Flying Ace Car Wash, Thornson, Switala, Mondock & Snead LLP, The Charles M. Uhl Jr. and Teresa D. Uhl Family Foundation, Buckeye Home Health Care, Primary Village North PTO, and many other individual donations.
“The involvement from the Centerville community to meet our goal has been astounding. We are grateful to our donors and volunteers for helping us complete this project so quickly and smoothly,” said Centerville Safe president, Emily Denlinger. “We at Centerville Safe are so grateful to be able to support our Centerville City Schools staff with classroom emergency kits. We received support from businesses and individuals in the Centerville community, and look forward to working together with the Centerville City Schools on future projects,” added the Centerville Safe vice-president, Emily Bookwalter.
“As a teacher, being prepared is of the utmost importance- especially in an emergency. My
students’ safety is my responsibility. Having an on-hand classroom emergency kit - for ANY emergency situation - would be a valuable resource for all teachers.” said one of Centerville’s middle school teachers.
